Twilight Sparkle is my grandaughter's favorite character.



My Little Pony Equestria Girls is about Twilight Sparkle’s adventure on how she goes about to retrieve her crown. The story begins with the whole gang arriving at the Crystal Empire. They are tired after their journey so they decide to turn in for the night. While they are sleeping, Sunset Shimmer steals Twilight Sparkle’s crown from the Crystal Empire. Twilight and Spike wake up after hearing a noise and they put a chase on for the intruder. They finally catch up with her and find out its Sunset Shimmer. They try to get the crown back but in the hustle of it all it ends up flying through the beautiful mirror in the room. Sunset Shimmer escapes by going into the mirror.

This mirror is like a doorway into another world. Its only open every 30 moons, so if they are going to do something it has to be quick. Twilight knows that without the crown the other Elements of Harmony have no power. Sunset Shimmer will use this power to cause harm to the others who are living in this other world and they won't be able to defend themselves.

Twilight knows she has to do this alone but little does she know that Spike ran through the mirror right behind her. Once they are through, Twilight is changed into a teenage girl without any power and Spike is a dog and they are in high school again. They soon find out that the person running this school is Sunset Shimmer. They also find out that the crown is for the Princess of the Fall Formal event. If Twilight wants the crown back, she has to win by getting the most votes from the students. That isn't going to be so easy due to the students being afraid of Sunset Shimmer. Twilight meets up later with five teenage girls who happen to have similar features and personalities to her best pony friends back home.



One part of the movie is a bit scarey for little ones but my grandchildren are 6 and 5 and it never bothered them. That is when Sunset Shimmer turns into a devil girl. All in all its a great movie for the kids to enjoy. I won't give away the ending, you will have to watch yourself to find out what happens and if Twilight gets her crown and power back again.

This DVD movie will be released August 6/13 by Shout! Factory in collaboration with Hasbro Studios. It also will be available on Blu-ray, and Digital Copy.
