HGG-Pretty Woman Giveaway-US/CAN-Ends Nov. 28/14
A little about Barbara Orbison:
Barbara Orbison,is late wife of the late Roy Orbison and passed away Dec. 6, 2011
Her latest venture, the launch of Pretty Woman Perfume was especially personal and marked the fulfillment of a life-long dream to produce a fragrance that embodies the beauty in every woman.
Since she could remember, Barbara was always concoct-ing lotions and potions in her kitchen, creating a delicious skin cream or mixing a delicate fragrance. Growing up in Germany in a family entrenched in the world of high fashion as owners of a couture clothing line and working as a model herself, she spent many hours backstage at fashion shows surrounded by beauty products. Early on she learned to appreciate makeup artistry and recognized the importance of good skin-care regimens. She was also always fascinated with perfumes and intent on finding just the right scent. She regularly experimented with combing different oils and fragrances until she hit “the perfect note.” She was constantly asked by friends, colleagues and passersby what fragrance she was wearing because her scent was always so appealing and distinct.
By the time Barbara married Roy, she had already formulated the type of fragrance she wanted to create. However, she became immersed in the music world, writing and producing and helping to manage their thriving music business. Those demands, plus raising two sons, required her to put her fragrance dream on hold until now.
As with all of her projects, Barbara had been involved in every step of the development of Pretty Woman from conception to launch. She worked closely with perfumers to formulate the exact scent she desired. She selected the bottle from the prestigious Versailles de Porchet in Paris and worked closely with the graphic designers to craft a package and label that reflects the pure, elegant essence of the fragrance.
Pretty Woman is currently launching in specialty retailers including Fred Segal, Planet Blue, Private Edition in Nashville and The Peninsula Hotel in L.A. and it is available online at www.prettywomanperfume.com. The suggested retail price is $80 for 1.7oz.
Barbara continued to manage the music empire she helped to build as Roy’s manager. She often appeared on PBS stations around the country to introduce Roy Orbison & Friends: A Black &White Night, a spectacular multimedia event she helped produce to celebrate Roy’s music that features along with Roy such rock & roll luminaries as Bruce Springsteen, Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, Elvis Costello, Tom Waits, T Bone Burnette and K.D. Lang. Her music publishing company, Still Working Music, currently has several records topping the charts including Taylor Swift’s #1 hit “You Belong With Me,” George Strait’s #1 “River of Love”, Gary Allan’s “Today” and Emerson Drive’s “I Love This Road”, and Robert Hart’s song “With You” in the film My Sister’s Keeper.
An avid traveler, Barbara spent her time between her homes in Nashville, TN, Malibu, CA, New York and London. She loved gardening and cherished spending time with her family and her many close friends.
