1. First of all, I am not a morning person, I am a night hawk, I hate winter, I hate shopping but do love to knit and crochet and do a lot of both.

2. I love blogging and started this giveaway blog almost one year ago. Its a lot of fun and I get to meet a lot of really great people.

3. I am a grandmother to seven with the youngest being a grandaughter. Since we never had any girls of our own, Ava is a treasure to us. We have 3 grown sons. We love spoiling all our grandchildren and they bring smiles to our faces each time we see them. Nothing better than being a grandma.

4. I love music from the 60's and also country and western music. As for movies, I like drama, mystery, and love the Supernatural series .

5. I am superstitious to some things but not a lot.

6. My favorite jewellery is my rings. I love rings and never have enough. I also love earrings and don't have enough of those either.

7. I am going to be happily married 35 years in May to a wonderful guy. That pretty well sums me up.

The trays I received as seen above, do not have lids but you just put your food in there to store in the fridge and put a piece of saran or plastic wrap over to cover the food.
GoGreen is an excellent solution for Case Ready packaging for fresh meat, poultry and seafood. These trays are excellent also for storing squares, cookies or even cake in. Just put your saran over top to keep the food fresh.
You can wash the tray out once its emptied and its ready to use the next time. These trays can be used in the freezer or microwave as well.

I See Me Personalized Children's Books~ Review

Iseeme sent me the most beautiful book. Our grandaughter, Ava loves Tinkerbell and fairies. So with her birthday at the end of this month, we thought this would make a perfect gift for her. These personalized books are hard covered books and fairies bring letters one by one to spell out your child's name in rhyme.

You get to choose the name,date of birth,gender,sender and the year given. All these are on the introduction page of the book.

Tropical Traditions sent me these Liquid Soaps. One is Lavender scented, one is Tea Tree scented and the last one is unscented. They are so nice. They are a foam and come in a nice pump dispenser. They are very mild scented and soft to the skin. I tend to like the Tea Tree scent myself.

These come in the 8 fluid oz. size (235 ml)
Most liquid soaps you find have added ingredients to make them thicker in consistency. Tropical Traditions Natural Liquid Soaps are made from 100% organic Virgin Coconut Oil, and nothing else. The scented varieties have organic essential oils added. These are packaged in a special foam pump dispenser that adds air to the soap, causing a rich lather of foam to come out.

Ingredients: saponified organic virgin coconut oil. Scented varieties: organic essential oils of tea tree and lavender.

Filipinos are well-known for their youthful appearance and soft skin, even though they live in a climate that exposes them to the sun’s rays year round. Coconut oil is their main dietary oil, and is also the main ingredient in their skin care products.

I like the size of this bracelet. Its not a huge overpowering kind of bracelet and it can be worn for every day wear as well as formal wear. Your children's book, The Adventures of Smitty looks magically. Tell us about it.

It's the story of a magical island of little creatures called Smilies and the mischievous little main character, Smitty. He's such a naughty boy. Haha! All the moms and kids I've shared it with have been giving me such a wonderful reaction. I cannot believe it. I have to tell you how excited I am to finally have a life-long dream come true. Writing The Adventures of Smitty
was really about finding a story that I would want to read to my children at night. It has to be exciting but not scary so that my two daughters can go to sleep. Basically, I was looking for that perfect blend to read to my kids at night and decided, "Why not try writing my own?"

We've had a lot of changes in our life recently, so I want to make sure that when I put my daughters to sleep that they feel safe. I have short chapters because I know how busy we moms are but if you can just sacrifice 5 minutes at night reading to your kids, it makes a world of difference. Your kids will never forget it. And although we're running around the whirlwind of life, our kids grow up so fast, and that time that we'd rather finish watching what happened in our favorite soap opera instead of reading to our kids will never come again. I hope that The Adventures of Smitty
and books like it help moms do exactly that.

And it's only 99 cents this week. That's what I love about it. Now, You are recently divorced. How have you been able to continue writing when going through such a change?

Yes, it is by far one of the most challenging points in my life. To see a marriage you thought would last forever to not last forever was difficult for the two of us. I really learned a lot about myself and most importantly, it's brought me closer to my daughters. I think that's what really motivated me to finish this children's book no matter what. When you're going through changes in your life like this, you need something to hold on to. There's a part of you that wants to prove that you can make it, that you will be a success even if it's not with the partner you originally imagined building a life with. I had to keep writing, for my kids. I want to show them that they have to keep strong, no matter what.

We as women, as moms really need to stick together to support each other and our dreams. We're living in an age when I think we're finally realizing, although we want love, the men in our life aren't the answer to everything. We have to stand up on our own two feet and keep going. True love will happen, but until then, we have to keep moving forward. Our children depend on us and we depend on us.

In addition to being a children's book author, you're also a small business owner. How do you juggle taking care of two daughters and at the same time running a business?

Yes, I am a fashion designer and have a retail store. Any type of creativity is what I'm passionate about. That's why writing The Adventures of Smitty was so important to me. Let me tell you, running a small business in today's economy isn't easy especially when raising two girls at the same time. But somehow, it seems someone's watching over me because my dreams are coming true no matter what. To have that many moms glowing about my children's book, means so much to me. And I know my girls are proud.

When do you ever have time to write?

You mean, in between laundry, running a business, chasing my girls around the house, cleaning the house, and flying back and forth from Miami to New York? Haha? That's one thing I've learned, when you really want to do something, you find a way. Things fall into place if you just go for it and that's what I want to encourage all the moms who are reading this right now. Whatever your goal is, you can do it. Don't let the challenges in your personal life stop you from going for your dreams. Just go for it and it's almost magical how things fall into place.

Its that time of year again for parents to start thinking of school and making lunches for the kids. What better way to send a lunch with your child than with the Go Green Lunch box. Take a look at this.

It comes with an insulated lunch bag.The fabric carrier is 13 x 8 x 2 1/2.The carrier is made of polyester fabric, and the gray inner lining is made of PEVA (polyethylene vinyl acetate).

5 compartment food container The food container is made of polypropylene (plastic grade #5) and uses silicone bands to keep food fresh. You can put yogurt, apple sauce, salad dressing, or pudding-like food products in the compartments.

Turn and lock, ensures food stays fresh. It has an erasable white board so you can send little messages each day. Only use a pen designated for a “dry-erase board.” Many brands of different colors and sizes are available at most office supply stores.
This comes with a stainless steel water bottle as well. The water bottle is made of 100% stainless steel - grade 304. The bottle will hold eight ounces of water or your child's favourite drink. All leach and lead free.

The fabric bag and food container should be stored separately and in “open” positions, to ensure proper ventilation.
I was very impressed with this Lunch box and its size. It is well made, and you can rest assured the food will stay fresh and will not spill over inside. There is a little name tag on the fabric bag where you can put the child's name and Class. It also fits nicely into a school bag for carrying but it can be carried separately as well. There is a handle on the top of the fabric bag for carrying.

Jeff spends his days much like we do except he is blind. He has his job to go to every day, he makes breakfast for his children and even can sit and watch a movie on tv with the family and he knows when to laugh at just the right times. I never knew they had what they call voice over tv for the blind.

Jeff has a dog who accompanies him on his travels and when they come to a light, its not the dog letting him know when he can cross the street, its his own senses telling him when to go. He has a bit of a problem distinguishing sounds when it rains but otherwise he gets around just fine. The train or bus station would be difficult for most and being blind adds to the confusion sometimes but Jeff listens to the sounds and can make his way just like any seeing eye person can.

Jeff gives each of us something to think about. Life doesn't end just because you lose your sight. Our other senses we are born with help us out in many ways as Jeff has proven in this video.

VH Steamers~Review

If you are looking for a great dish that is filling and quick and easy to make you have to try the VHSteamers
They are absolutely delicious.
My husband and I tried some the other day. He had the Kung Pao Chicken and I had the Chicken Teriyaki.

There is rice, veggies and chicken in both of these meals along with a great sauce in the bottom. Now this little bowl it comes in has two parts. The top part with the rice and veggies in and if you lift that up, the sauce is in the bottom part of the bowl. The funny part of all this is we really didn't read all this before we began to eat our meal and I asked hubby where my sauce was. I lifted the bowl and saw the bottom was a dark color then noticed the grooves in the bowl where you lift the top part up. Voila! There was the sauce. I proceeded to pour the sauce over my rice meal and it was delicious. Now this was the Chicken Teriyaki that I had.
Hubby on the other hand had the Kung Pao Chicken and said it was great and he does enjoy hot spicy foods but this sauce was a little too hot for his liking. So you can suit yourself if you like your sauce hot.

Otherwise it was wonderful and we are going to try the Shanghai Ginger Beef VH Steamer and the Thai Chicken & Shrimp VH Steamer next. These steamers come in 6 varieties and the other two that I haven't mentioned are the Honey Sesame Chicken and the Zesty Orange Chicken.

A Note Regarding Your Posts

I know almost everyone is aware of the problems with Blogger/Blogspot that kept everyone from being able to post yesterday and part of today.
Now Blogger says they will be restoring the lost posts but so far I see for the Febreze giveaway they have not done this yet. What I am going to do is extend the giveaway for 2 extra days which means it will end on May 27 instead of the 25th.

I have a record of posts made and for my count up to now I have a total of 75 posts. Not the amount mentioned in the comment section. I checked all the posts that have been made and am keeping track. So if my count is correct and Blogger does not replace the lost posts, I have a record of them and who made them. So when it comes time to draw a winner, your post will be counted in, as they were made.

One thing that everyone can do if you posted in the Febreze giveaway, please send me an email saying you entered if your name is NOT marked below. Just so I can re-check my records and be sure I have everyone.

My Thoughts:

These socks have small snaps on the cuff of the socks so when you are done wearing them you simply snap the two socks together before they go in the wash. You don't have to sort or search for missing socks any more. These snaps leave no more of a mark than the sock cuff itself. You can wear these socks without feeling the snap at all.

My grandaughter loves her new Snappy Socks. She put a pair on right away and they fit her perfectly. They have a nice stretch to them and are very soft and comfortable. No more looking for a missing sock with these Snappy socks. Just snap them together, throw them in the wash, they will come out together and you can dry them and put them in the drawer, snapped together and ready for the next wear.

I wish I would have something like these when my own boys were growing up. I was always missing socks from someone.

Well Happy Cinco de Mayo day yesterday. I hope everyone enjoyed their day and had fun celebrating.

Now as soon as these products arrived, my husband was right into the Tostitos Scoops. He said they are great. He loves the taste of them although he wasn't sure if he would like them or not. Well obviously he did like them because I am now down to half a bag left.
