Do you have children who love to read? I was sent two books and they are meant for teens but I read them and I tell you, they both kept my attention. Once I began to read, I couldn't put the book down. The first book is the introduction of two friends Bruten Stone and Tommy Staunton in The Secret of the Portals. These boys will take you on a journey of fantasy, mystery, adventure and so much more. I intend to give these books to my 12 year old grandson as I think he is mature enough to understand what is happening in the books. Here is a little about each of the books.
The Secret of the Portals:
Bruten Stone and Tommy Staunton have just graduated from the 5th grade and are looking for adventure. On the first day of summer break, they set out to explore the woods on the edge of town, but soon find themselves in another world. They quickly figure out that they have gone through a portal within a cave, and learn from Tommy's Uncle Ron, a great explorer, that there are more portals to be explored. Along the way they meet animals that talk, ninja chipmunks, miniature people, and more. They soon figure out that the worlds are rich in natural resources... including diamonds, emeralds, and gold! They could be rich beyond their wildest dreams, but choose to take the high road and defend the other worlds from would be profiteers, looking to exploit the other worlds and enrich themselves. It's an adventure like no other. Are Bruten and Tommy up for the challenge?
Guardians of the Scepter:
Finding the secret portals was just the beginning… Bruten & Tommy have taken the first step on their quest to protect the portals and the Golden Scepter. For generations, power hungry villains have searched for the scepter, and now it was Bruten & Tommy's turn to protect it. Join the boys on a whirlwind journey as they fight off armed men, escape from kidnappers, and travel to a new world where the power of the mind reigns supreme. In this world, Tommy learns another surprising secret about his family history…a secret that could end with his family's demise. Will the newly minted Guardians of the Scepter have what it takes to carry on the legacy?
I am sure your child or even you, yourself will enjoy reading these books. I know I did.
